Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world, part of the grass family it can be sustainably harvested after 4 years growth. All our bamboo is grown in carefully controlled FSC certified forests. The bamboo species we use is called Moso and grows in the low mountain areas of eastern China and is exposed to extreme temperature changes making it naturally very durable.
All of our bamboo undergoes a special AMP, (anti-mould treatment) two stage process that has overcome the high maintenance problems traditionally associated with exterior bamboo applications. Our factory pre- treats all of our bamboo with our own specially formulated BamTek oil. Once installed, we recommend one further application. An annual coating of the oil is recommended depending on wear and traffic. Our natural finished product has a beautiful golden brown tone with a clear grain that rivals any hardwood in feel and appearance.

A comprehensive series of independent tests have been done to prove resistance to de-lamination, rot and mould in extreme conditions including;
- Passing the US ASTM D2559 American Standard
- Independent Laboratory test from New Zealand proves the ATP (anti mould protection) gives far better protection against mould and growth when compared with CCA treated pine to H3 specifications.
- Meets EU and SGS International Safety Standards.
